Day 2: The Building Blocks
Pronouns & The Verb "To Be"
Grammar
Pronouns (like I, you, he, she) are shortcuts we use to avoid repeating names. The verb "to be" (is, am, are) is one of the most important verbs, used to describe states of being, identity, and characteristics. In Hindi, pronouns have levels of formality. "Main" (मैं) is "I". For "You", we use "Aap" (आप) for formal situations (elders, strangers), "Tum" (तुम) for informal (friends), and "Tu" (तू) for very informal (close friends, can be considered rude). "Vah" (वह) is used for both "He" and "She". The verb "to be" in Hindi corresponds to "hai" (है) for singular and "hain" (हैं) for plural or formal singular.
